This is a Hardware issue.
It can be a broken CABLE or the USB Interface may be defect.
Please try to REVERSE (turn around) the 10 pin flat cable to see if maybe one of the wires was broken.

And perform the USB Interface test:

I hope these are NiMH Accumulators (Alkaline Batteries are bad for this type of device).

Hey SlyD,

thanks for your quick respond, I tested it like the manual, but if I connect a wire to the pins like in the manual the terminal does show the message 1:1 back.

I checked if I use the newest FTDI Driver and the same result came out for when I checked earlier, I have the newest driver.
Also the port can be opened, it just doesn't connect and receives an Communication error.
I've now put in some rechargable MinH 1.2V 2100 MaH batteries in the batterieholder.

I've done the test on a windows 7 Home Premium laptop and a Windows XP laptop with the new Bootloader version 1.5h

Corresponding to the manual the problem would now be in the Microcontroller, the connector or the RP6 mainboard. :(
is there anything else I can do? Or must I contact Conrad for this matter?

With kind regards,
Rick

From your logs it seems that the Reset Pin and the TX Pin from the Mainboard as well as the RX Pin on the USB Interface is working.
From the wire Test you can see that TX Pin on the USB Interface is also working so, yes sadly it must be the RX Pin on the Mainboard that does not work.
You can still try to reverse the Cable and see what happens (could also be just bad contact INSIDE the connector).

It can be just a broken solder connection on the Connector - you could check that visually or with a Multimeter if you have one.

This was for another topic but here you can see where the Signals go on the Microcontroller:
http://www.arexx.com/rp6/downloads/rp6_ ... ignals.jpg

You should also measure the connection from the 10 Pin Connector if you have a Multimeter or can borrow one from a neighbour.

Best Regards,
SlyD

I have the same problem (zelfde probleem, weet niet wie dit leest NL or EN)

I am working with the RP6 robot. It works fine on my PC, but when I try
to connect the robot to my Laptop he gives this error;

ERRORCODE 9

But all the leds on my robot turn on for a few seconds, when i try to connect,
so he recognise them, but he can not connect.

But he works fine on my laptop, so I update the RP6 Loader, that didn't help.
Run it from my C:, or a usb. Didn't help. And the cable is not broken, because
it is the same cable I use to connect to my pc.

I dont know what to do, can somebody give me help.

Hello,

> I have the same problem
...
> ERRORCODE 9

No, that is NOT the same problem.
Also as it works on your other PC is it clearly a Software issue.
Most likely a problem with the Driver Installation or another Software occupying the Port or something completely different.

As the error message says, MORE INFO is found in the Logfile!

First you can simply try new RobotLoader: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1114
and install most recent Driver: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM ... tified.zip
manually via Windows Device Manager (there are TWO entries under USB and Comports, both must be updated seperate)

If it still fails, post the robotloader_logfile.log AFTER you got the error and AFTER you closed the Software.
(it overwrites this file after each start)

SlyD
